Overnight Care

When do you need overnight care?

We realise that tailor-made solutions are necessary to meet the needs of each individual customer. As a result, for some people, caring does not stop when the workday concludes but rather continues throughout the night.

If you need extra assistance in the wee hours of the morning, we offer overnight care. Our carers will stay overnight with you or your loved one and help with everything from getting ready for bed to taking medications and using the restroom.

Who might benefit from having overnight care?

Everyone who requires care and support during the night can benefit from overnight care, giving you and your loved one peace of mind. Short-term post-operative care, in which you or a loved one require help with things as simple as getting dressed and using the restroom to as complex as changing the stoma bag, wound management and dressing, ventilation monitoring, etc., are all examples. It could also be for the comfort of knowing you have someone to turn to if you have any problems in the middle of the night.

Most often, people need overnight care because they:

Memory loss, disorientation, and the inability to communicate are all symptoms of dementia, a gradual degenerative brain illness. Dementia patients, especially those in the later stages of the disease, may experience nighttime awakenings marked by confusion and disorientation. You may rest easy knowing that your loved ones will be well taken care of and supported by an overnight caretaker, allowing them to remain in the familiar surroundings of their own home.

Assistance during the night after surgery is typically provided for a limited time frame. Depending on your condition, you may require simple care like help using the restroom, getting dressed or undressed, changing pressure point settings during the night, giving medications, or more advanced care like catheterization, stoma care, and wound management.

Problems with movement: if you or a loved one have trouble getting around but also have trouble sleeping, our carers will be there to help you get from bed to the bathroom and back again without incident.

Incontinence: It is common to lose control of one’s bladder and bowels as we age. This causes an increase in potty breaks throughout the day. With our caretakers by your side, you can rest easy knowing that you won’t have to worry about waking up too early to go to the toilet.
Being alone can be disheartening and frightening, particularly in the dark. Our carers will ensure that you feel safe and secure in your own home by providing around-the-clock assistance and companionship.

Sometimes families need to hunt for loved ones, but they also need a break. This is where overnight respite care comes in. Those who need a break from caring for a loved one but still want to know that their loved ones are safe and well taken care of might benefit from our overnight respite care. If you need constant monitoring, your live-in carers may benefit from occasional overnight breaks.

Because your situation and needs are unique, we will work with you to create a personalised care plan that addresses them all, allowing you to remain in the comfort and security of your own home.

Types

Overnight care might be one of three varieties:

Overnight care, often known as “waking care,” is having a caretaker visit and sleep at your house. The carer will stay up all night to check in on you and make sure you’re getting the care you need, including assistance with changing positions, relieving pressure spots, taking medications, and getting up to use the restroom.

Sleeping overnight care is similar to waking overnight care in that a carer comes to your home and stays with you, but the carer needs their own bed to sleep in and can only provide assistance if asked to do so. Up to three times a night, they could be awakened. Those who do not need constant assistance can benefit from this service, as can those who simply prefer not to spend the night alone at home.

For live-in carers who work during the day and need nighttime breaks, there is respite overnight care.

Waking overnight care and respite overnight care are the two services we offer here at Saannie Care. Please contact us right away if you have any questions concerning the services we offer.

When do you need waking care?

Overnight care is the next logical step after our nursery services. The service includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
Pressure points and repositioning: our carers will make sure you feel comfortable during the night and adjust your posture to avoid stiffness and numbness when resting and sleeping in bed.

medication administration: our nighttime carers will make sure you take all of your prescriptions on time, especially after surgery when timing is crucial. hydration

Our carers will quietly assist you with bathing and toileting, treating you with the utmost respect and decency.
